We’ve all had a busy year and the run up to Christmas can mean we don’t take the best care of ourselves. Here at Mummies Club we’ve got 4 MUMMIE PICK ME UPS you can do at home to make you ready to tackle the New Year!
Each one has been designed to be kind on your wallet as well as your body.
#1 Olive Oil Hair Mask
This is so easy to do. Take some olive oil and a large plastic bag or shower cap (add a few drops of essential oil of you have some). Warm the oil between your hands and massage into your scalp. Add some more oil to cover the length of your hair paying special attention to the ends. Wrap your hair in the plastic/cap and leave for 30 mins. Rinse out then shampoo as usual.
# 2 Ten Min Scrub Away
It seems a while since the summer and regular skin exfoliation. Take 10 mins before your daily shower to brighten your skin. This is super easy. All you need to do is take a handful of oats and whizz them up in a blender until they are finely ground. If you don’t have a blender use a pestle and mortar or small bowl and rolling pin. Add some natural yoghurt and a small amount of honey (the honey will soften your skin and soothe irritation) until you have a lovely sticky paste.Run over your skin in circular movements and leave for 5-10 minutes. Use wet hands to dampen the mixture on your skin and give your body gentle exfoliating massage. Shower off and pat your skin dry.
#3 Soothing Face Mask
When was the last time you had a soothing face mask? This method is extra special as its packed full of natural ingredients. Take 2 tbsp of plain yoghurt and mix in the same amount of honey (honey is known to reduce inflammation). Use a flannel to clean your face with really warm water. Leave your face slightly damp then apply the face mask. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and pat skin dry with a soft towel.
Hands can become especially dry this time of year. Make this super easy home-made hand softner and have baby soft hands in under 2 mins. Take 2 tbsp of brown sugar, mix into a paste with baby oil (or olive oil). Massage over your hands in mini circular movements paying particular attention to the skin around your nails and your palms. Rinse off with luke warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
