Yay! The bank holiday is here. If, like us it’s crept up on you and you haven’t got any concrete plans don’t worry!
We’ve pulled together some simple last minute ideas of ways to have fun with family and friends.
Picnics are the perfect bank holiday weekend activity and the best thing they don’t have to cost a fortune. Pack up a lunch box each grab some drinks and head out. Whether you choose a nearby park or somewhere a little further afield you are bound to have some fun in the sun.
August is a great month to go to your local pick your own farm. Grab your family and friends and head on out, see whats in season then pick and take your bounty home for a cooking or baking session.
You don’t have to go away for the bank holiday weekend to enjoy some camping fun. If you have the equipment why not have a camp out in the back garden (complete with cooking dinner on your camping stove) or if you prefer a little more luxury have a family camp out in your lounge.
Following the fabulous response we’ve had from our geocaching app of the week feature we just had to add this as a bank holiday activity. Perfect for little (and big) explorers. Find out more HERE
When was the last time you stood in a shallow river and did a little fishing? Probably when you were at school. If the weather permits grab a net and a white tray or tupperware pot (the white makes it easier to see what you’ve caught) and search for a little stream or river to explore.
You don’t have to go out for a full meal with family or friends this weekend but going out for dessert is a great idea. Whether its a simple ice cream by the coast or a full on freak shake like these you are bound to enjoy yourself!
It’s almost illegal to not have BBQ on the August bank holiday weekend. Whether you choose to go full on out and create a fabulous feast for all those near and dear or fire up a small disposable version to cook some bangers you’re bund to have a great time.
