Keep Fruit and Veg Fresh

Want strawberries this year but annoyed they keep going off? Try soaking them in 1 part vinegar and 10 parts water then drain and rinse and store in the fridge. For asparagus trim the bottoms and place in a jar of fresh water, cover with a plastic bag and pop in the fridge.

Clean The Sink with Fizz

Image and info from BDS Drainage

Mix 1/3rd of a cup of baking soda with 1/3rd of a cup of vinegar in a measuring cup. This should cause an instant fizzing reaction, as quickly as you can pour the mixture down your blocked drain. The fizzing reaction will help to remove any unwanted grime or waste that has built up over time inside the pipe. Let it sit for a couple of hours or overnight if possible and then flush with hot water.
