This year why not make some yummy bakes for your loved ones. We’ve chosen FOUR easy bakes for the whole family to enjoy! Have fun!
Such a simple bake, all you need is a basic cookie recipe , some ready to roll icing, writing icing and some decorations.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Bake some heart shaped cookies and allow to cool
Roll out the icing and cut into slightly smaller heart shapes than the cookies
Attach the icing onto your cookies by brushing the back with a little cooled boiled water.
Decorate and Eat!
If you are a fan of the cake pop get the kids to decorate some cute valentines themed ones. To make these you will need a machine or mould.
For the decorations heres a list of ideas:
White, milk or dark chocolate
Mini heart and star sprinkles we like these at Waitrose
Coloured sugar (red or pink)
Writing icing
Flaked nuts
Desiccated coconut
This isn’t so much of a bake, it’s more of an assemble! Simple to make and looks so sweet.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Toast some bread
Create a heart on the toast using some berries (either gently cook some fresh ones in a little sugar syrup or you can buy a tin)
Surround your heart in cream (you could use yogurt in a piping bag)
Sprinkle with a little cinnamon sugar and serve!
Everyone likes a cupcake. For valentines the red velvet cake looks perfect, we also recommend making some chocolate ones as well.
Bake your cupcakes
Decorate with your choice of toppings, we like some traditional butter cream and mini hearts.
A nice touch is to keep a cake to one side and crumble some of the spare cake into crumbs then sprinkle on the icing (please note: the leftovers need to be eaten here it would be rude not to!)
Happy Baking!
