There’s always leftovers at Christmas and if like us you hate wasting food, check out these easy leftover ideas. We’ve focused on four main items, turkey, veg, cheese and Christmas pudding. Alternatively if you’ve always secretly wanted to try the scraps test on Masterchef (we have) just go with the flow when you open your fridge on Boxing Day.
Nigel Slater Christmas Pudding Ice Cream
We saw this on a recent BBC repeat and although we can’t find the recipe on the internet it’s so simple you don’t actually need to see it.
Method:
Take some leftover brandy butter (normal butter will do if you don’t have Brandy)
Melt in a pan
Crumble in leftover christmas pudding and warm through
Spoon over vanilla ice cream
(you can also add a splash of brandy if you want to)
This fabulous and easy pie looks amazing! make with tons of sweet melt in the mouth leeks and a puff pastry with chestnuts – what’s not to like.
What a great idea. Make our leftover turkey meat into a crispy duck substitute and serve with pancakes, spring onion and cucumber – yum!
